Toshiro Hitsugaya is the 9th character in the Bleach Roster.


He is the captain of the 10th division of the Gotei 13 and is considered a prodigy due to his strength despite his age. His Shikai(始解 ''Initial release)'' allows him to create and manipulate ice at a very low temperature. His Bankai (卍解, ''Final Release''), allows him to create and manipulate ice and water at a very high degree.

Ice Whip: Toshiro uses his Zanpakutō, Hyorinmaru to summon a thin pillar of ice that will track the opponent that Toshiro directed to. On contact, it will create an "X" shape while freezing and damaging targets caught in it.


(Note: This tracking is similar to Kisuke's old version of Cry. This move tends to curve around your opponent alot, due to multiple variables that mostly concern the movement and vertical elevation of you compared to your opponent.)

Ice Wall: Toshiro waves Hyorinmaru to create a multi-layered barrier of ice that quickly warps around Toshiro, knocking away nearby targets whilst shielding Toshiro from any incoming attacks.

IceTrap

Ice Trap: Toshiro spins his Zanpakutō, and creates a formation of 6 snowflake-like crystal ice traps on the ground. These ice traps are stationary and stagnant until an oppenent touches them or lands on them. When an opponent steps within the vicinity of these strucutres, ice stalagmites will spike up from the centers of every ice trap, sending the victim flying up into the air.

Freezing Dash: Toshiro holds Hyorinmaru as he rushes at his opponents on a freezing path of ice that damages opponents multiple times. If the ice path attack is blocked at any point, or has not hit a single enemy, Toshiro swings his sword around him, knocking away any nearby opponent. If the ice path deals any unblocked damage, regardless if there any other enemies blocking, the sword swing will not be performed.

Bankai, Daiguren Hyorinmaru - Toshiro transforms into his bankai, Daiguren Hyourinmaru, granting him ice wings on his back and an ice tail, while also increasing his M1 speed.

Ice Daggers: Toshiro juts out a trio of ice spikes from the ground infront of him that knocks away the opponent, then he roughly splits the spikes into three shards that track the opponent shortly after.

Ice Prison: Toshiro summons 5 massive pillars of ice from the ground around his victim that encircle his opponent, then, at Toshiro's command, the pillars wrap around and crush his opponent.

Dragon Flower

Dragon Flower: Toshiro prepares his blade before he flies forward, rushing at the opponent. Upon making contact with his target, a large burst ice envelops the target, encasing them in ice and leaving them frozen. After a few moments, the ice will shatter, freeing the opponent.

Tips and Tricks

  • Toshiro's Ice Wall can negate every damaging move in the game except for Gin's Kurose, Gon's End, Ichigo's Mugetsu, and Killua's Execute. It can even I Frame one shots such as Saitama's Serious Punch and Lancer's Gae Bolg. Use this to negate heavy hitting moves, especially Ultimates.
  • Toshiro's Ice Prison can be cancelled if 20/25 damage is dealt to Toshiro before startup of Ice prison ends, so be wary about using it in the middle of a particularly heated battle.
  • Ice Whip's' delayed tracking is great for combos and pressuring your opponents to block.An easy way to get damage or a guard break with Toshiro is to Ice Whip and then Freezing Dash. This makes it so that your opponent either has to block the Ice Whip and get guardbroken by the last part of Freezing Dash, or just take the Ice Whip and the last part of Freezing Dash.

Trivia

  • Toshiro is one of the only 5 characters in the game who have Ice related abilities, the others being Rukia, Gray, Aokiji and Todoroki. He is also one of the only 3 characters who use ice in both their base and their awakening, the others being Aokiji, and Todoroki.
  • Toshiro used to be able to have 2 Ice Traps down simultaneously, but the despawn time was nerfed at a later date so only one can exist at time per Toshiro.
  • Like Rukia, Toshiro's M1s in awakening used to be red, before they were later changed to blue.
  • Toshiro got buffed multiple times before he was released.
  • If Freezing Dash misses, it will play the Pig's "Say3" file from Minecraft.
    • This is the 2nd Minecraft sound used in the ABA, first being an Enderman teleport noise for Sōsuke Aizen.
  • Toshiro and Afro Samurai are the only characters to have animations for their characters outfits.
  • Toshiro's Ice Prison model does not reach down past the floor. This can be seen by using Ice Prison after a Grounded or Launching M1 Finisher.
