Gaara is the 7th character in the Naruto roster.
Gaara (我愛羅, Gaara) is a shinobi of Sunagakure. Before he was born, Shukaku was sealed within him, resulting in his mother's death. Regarded as a monster by the village and with nobody to love him, Gaara came to despise the world and began relying only on his strength, gaining the title Gaara of the Sand Waterfall (砂瀑の我愛羅, Sabaku no Gaara; English TV "Gaara of the Desert"). After his defeat by Naruto Uzumaki (Part 1) and his unwavering dedication to his friends, Gaara begins emulating Naruto's method and changes Suna's opinions of him. He eventually becomes the village's Fifth Kazekage (五代目風影, Godaime Kazekage; Meaning "Fifth Wind Shadow"), a position he maintains even after Shukaku is removed from his body by Akatsuki.

Sand Coffin: Gaara uses his special chakra-infused sand track the opponent, binds them within the sand, as the sand rises the opponent to the air. Gaara then clenches his body to cause the sand to contract. The sand presses in on the target from all directions crushing them.

If the player is holding F, Gaara will cover himself in a compacted layer of sand, providing an additional defense. This "defense" will allow Gaara to block any type of blockable or guardbreak type move, but Gaara can still be attacked by moves that bypass guard (e.g. Absorb). Gaara's Armor of Sand does not provide 360° coverage, so he can still be attacked from behind.
- Note: Despite blocking the move, Gaara will take the guardbreak chip damage.
